This beginner-friendly class introduces students to the essential techniques of garment construction. Students learn how to use a sewing machine confidently, understand fabrics, follow basic patterns, and complete clean, well-constructed sewing projects.
Students begin with machine safety, threading, stitch selection, seam allowances, pressing, and proper fabric handling.
They develop the core skills needed to sew accurately and independently.

Students learn how garments are assembled, including seams, hems, facings, waistbands, closures, and finishing techniques.
The goal is not only to learn how to sew, but to understand how and why garments are constructed. Each piece at School of Couture is crafted with precision and care. We work with skilled artisans who take pride in their work and use only the highest quality materials.
Each lesson includes practical exercises and sewing projects designed to build confidence, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Students progress step by step while developing strong technical habits.
Sewing Foundations provides the essential skills students need before moving into fashion design, pattern making, draping, costume design, and advanced garment construction.
No previous sewing experience is required.
